The RoboMaster is one of the most prestigious robotics competitions in China, pushing young engineers to innovate and prove their practical capabilities in real-world combat scenarios. Among the multiple robot roles on the battlefield, the engineering robot plays a critical role. It’s responsible for collecting scattered “gold” and “silver” mineral resources on the field and transporting them to designated exchange zones — a tactical core for gaining economic advantages during the game.
In the 2025 RoboMaster season, the Passion team from Nanchang University chose the CubeMars GL60 II bility, stability, and reliability, the GL60 II delivered a high-performance answer through its advanced design.
The GL60 II features a true hollow shaft design (φ20mm), allowing vacuum tubes or wiring to pass directly through the motor’s center. This eliminates the risk of cable tangling during 360° continuous rotation, a common challenge in robotic arms. For the engineering robot, this significantly increases the efficiency and reliability of the grabbing mechanism, helping teams capture resources faster and more smoothly.
One of the key advantages of the GL60 II gimbal motor is its ultra-low cogging torque, which ensures smooth and consistent motion — especially critical for precise manipulation tasks on the battlefield. In RoboMaster competitions, where the robotic arm needs to maintain stable operation during slow movements or fine adjustments, this feature helps eliminate unwanted vibration and jitter. The result is enhanced control accuracy, smoother movement, and improved performance during resource handling and targeting tasks.
Unlike conventional motors, the GL60 II gimbal motor combined with an integrated driver board, ensuring ultra-fast dynamic response and precise torque control. This is crucial in competitive scenarios where the arm must quickly reverse direction or brake in milliseconds without losing positional accuracy. Even under high-speed impact or sudden motion, the motor maintains consistent performance.
Choosing the right motor can define the success of an engineering robot in RoboMaster. The CubeMars GL60 II you’re preparing for RoboMaster, developing autonomous arms, or designing industrial gimbals, the GL60II is a hollow gimbal motor built to perform at the highest level.
